WDFW Beach Season Information

Clam, mussel, and oyster seasons projected to OPEN for harvest August 1 through September 30, 2025 only. 

WDFW shellfish seasons indicate the specific times of year when harvesting is permitted. Before heading to the beach, please also check the Department of Health (DOH) information below which is related to health of the shellfish and may be updated daily. To harvest on this beach, it must be both during the WDFW approved season and approved by the DOH.

Harvest profile

This is an excellent beach for oysters. Portions of this beach are very muddy and may be hazardous. Clam resources can be found in areas where the substrate is more firm.

Directions

From the south (Shelton and Olympia) travel north on Highway 101 through Shelton and continue for about 11 miles to the intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 106. Take a right on Highway 106 (eastbound) and follow it for about 23 miles to Belfair. Watch for the left turn and signs to Belfair State Park via Highway 300 (Northshore Drive). The park is about three miles west of Belfair. The park entrance is on the left and is well marked.

From the east on Highway 3 (Bremerton, Belfair) or the south on Highway 16 (Tacoma) take Highway 3 to Belfair. Watch for the right turn and signs to Belfair State Park via Highway 300 (Northshore Drive). The park is about three miles west of Belfair. The park entrance is on the left and is well marked.

Parking

A Discover Pass is required to park at Belfair State Park. Day use parking is available.

Facilities

Belfair State Park has fire circles, horseshoe pits, volleyball fields, play area for children, showers, potable water, year-round camping and picnic areas. Visit the Belfair State Park website for more information about facilities.
