Harvest profile

This is an excellent beach for Manila clams. The most popular spot is on the north side of the spit in the mid-tidal area near the base of the spit and in the tidal lagoon located behind the spit. Small clams are abundant in the lagoon. Please measure and replant all clams smaller than 1 1/2 inches. Horse clams and geoducks are found primarily on the south side of the spit, all the way south to Lindsay Beach. Butter clams and native littleneck clams can be found in most areas with mixed sand and gravel substrate.

This is an excellent beach for oysters. Before it was acquired by WDFW, this beach was a commercial oyster beach. There are large oyster beds on either side of Broad Spit and oysters are found from Broad Spit all the way to the south beach boundary. The private property to the north of the boundary is a commercial oyster farm. Please respect private property and don't trespass.
