Executive Summary
The Washington Department of Wildlife manages approximately 5.9% of the state's lowland lakes throughout the state according to public desires, recreational demands, habitat considerations and prvious managment efforts. Although surveys have shown that trout are the most popular of the state's game fish, some lakes are managed to improve populations of bass, bluegill or crappie. In response to these needs WDW proposes the elimination of non-game or competitor species in a portion of these lakes to allow stocking and optimal populations of trout fingerlings and selected warmwater species. The overall objective of the program is to improve public fishing opportunities.
