Ad-Hoc Coastal Recreational Bottomfish Advisory Group

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) manages coastal recreational bottomfish fisheries on a biennial cycle (e.g., 2019-2020) with regulations implemented by the National Marine Fisheries Service.  The Washington Department of Fish and adopts state regulations that conform to federal regulations.

The purpose of the Coastal Recreational Bottomfish Advisory Group is to provide input to WDFW on management measures such as bag limits, depth restrictions, and area closures that will provide recreational opportunity in coastal marine areas that are in balance with federal harvest limits. WDFW coordinates input from Washington stakeholders through public meetings to develop management measures and is responsible for tracking catch inseason.
