Managing wildlife populations and wildlife / human conflicts presents many different challenges. As the state moves forward and confronts these challenges, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is actively working with livestock producers, hunters, and others to successfully minimize conflicts, address diseases and other issues, and engage with evolving hunting equipment and tools.
The Game Management Advisory Council was created to provide a broad range of perspectives to help inform and discuss the many different aspects of the Game Management Plan. The council recommends strategies for addressing current game management issues. Specific issues include:
- Predator / prey management
- Recruitment and retention of hunters
- Non-toxic ammunition
- Hunter access
- Wildlife disease
- Baiting
- Wildlife / human conflict
At the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, we celebrate diverse individuals who bring a wide range of perspectives. All are welcome to participate in our processes regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability.
