Wildlife Diversity Advisory Council

Wildlife Diversity is a term commonly used to describe wildlife species that are not traditionally managed for harvest. Also known as "nongame," these species make up the majority of wildlife.

The Wildlife Diversity Advisory Council (WDAC) was created to advise the Department on both keeping common species common and recovering listed wildlife species. The council also recommends approaches on how to develop and maintain the social, political, and resource support necessary to achieve conservation of wildlife diversity species in Washington.

At the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, we celebrate diverse individuals who bring a wide range of perspectives. All are welcome to participate in our processes regardless of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability.
